Everything is Figureoutable
by Marie Forleo
Published 2019
I didn’t think I was going to like this book, because I was sure it was going to be fluffy, re-hashed self-help material. But I kept hearing people I respected talk about how good it was, so I finally bought and read it for a business book club to which I belong. Happily, I found it well worth my time, not because Forleo said anything brand new but because her own perspective and passion brought time-proven principles to life.
This is so many books in one: a motivational powder keg, an entrepreneurial guide, and a primer on how to find your calling and then get out of your own way to do what you’re meant to do in this world. Principles taught will help you in both business and personal life.
Key take-aways:
The key principles of this book resonated extremely well with the Stoic philosophy I’ve been studying and finding so helpful:
- Be the best you can be.
- Serve others.
- Let go of what you can’t control.
- Never give up.
Every motivational principle was accompanied by real-life examples and action tips. The book contains links to many additional resources, articles, and interviews.
Author’s unique style
Marie Forleo has created an entertaining and effective combination of personal experience, stories from those who have put the principles into practice, relevant and inspiring quotes, and very helpful and practical exercises for readers to implement what she is teaching.
If you’ve ever seen Marie online or on her MarieTV show, you know she is a force of nature. Inthis case, she has channeled her talent, energy, and heart into a truly helpful book. It’s especially timely for someone who feels they’re in a rut or frustrated with unfulfilled potential, and I gleaned tips that will help me live with more purpose and strengthen my own Heartspoken Life.
