Unexpected recognition
What a thrill to receive the “Encouraging Thunder Award” recently for this blog. Many thanks to my friend and fellow blogger, Kelly Walker, for her nomination.
Be sure to visit Kelly Walker’s blog “Life of a Daily Painter.” Kelly not only chronicles her daily painting adventure, but she encourages others to paint and shares the work of her hundreds of students of all ages and finds fun and creative ways to support her community and other artists. She’s also the “mother” of adorable dogs who are featured prominently on her blog.
Why I blog
I can’t think of anything I’d rather be recognized for than for being an encourager. I believe each of us carries a deep-seated desire to live a wholehearted life—the best life we can—and I believe the secret sauce for doing that lies in the strength of life’s four essential connections: with God, with Self, with Others, and with Nature. I constantly seek ways to connect more meaningfully with God, Self, others, and Nature, and my purpose in blogging is to invite you along on the journey and help you find ways to strengthen your own essential connections. If you’re not already a subscriber, I hope you’ll join me HERE. You can unsubscribe at any time.
So thank you, Kelly, for thinking of me and for being a faithful reader at Heartspoken.com.
I nominate Misifusa’s Blog: The Presents of Presence
I would like to nominate my fellow blogging friend Yvonne to receive the next Encouraging Thunder award for her blog Misifusa’s Blog: The Presents of Presence. Its content is all about encouragement, love, and living with gratitude, mindfulness and awareness that every day—every moment—is a precious gift. Please go visit this blog and tell them Heartspoken sent you!

The Presents of Presence
Elizabeth, I am honored and grateful for your nomination of me. Thank you! I will do my best to get a post out this week for the Encouraging Thunder Award. Congratulations again to you for being such an amazing encourager. ♥
Elizabeth Cottrell
There is no time constraint on this, Yvonne. It took me a couple of weeks to get a post out after my own nomination. No one’s keeping time! Thank you so much that compliment from someone who is, herself, a master encourager, is high praise indeed.
Karen R. Sanderson
I like to blog because I like sharing the good works of others. I blog because I need to express myself. To share my poetry, my stories, sometimes my art. I follow Misifusa already and I just now signed up for Kelly. Thanks for the suggestion!
Elizabeth Cottrell
Thank you, Karen — your WordShark blog (https://karenrsanderson.wordpress.com/) is a delightfully rich and varied offering for anyone, but especially for writers and authors. You do a fantastic job of spotlighting other people and featuring other “voices.” You’ve also give this East Coast gal a glimpse of life in North Dakota! Who knew they were among the country’s largest growers of sunflowers?
Karen R. Sanderson
The sunflowers are in full flower right now – beautiful to travel some of the roads around town and see acres and acres of them!

As thrilling as the photos were, I can only imagine how magnificent those fields must be in person.
