THANKSGIVING DAY: Sometimes a song expresses what’s in my heart more perfectly than I can do myself. “Thanksgiving Song,” written and sung by Mary Chapin Carpenter, does just that. I hope wherever you are today, and whatever you’re doing, your heart is filled with gratitude and joy. As I count my blessings, you readers of this blog are high on my list. Thank you for your time and for believing with me that connection matters.
For those who like to follow along, the lyrics are below the video.
Grateful for each hand we hold
Gathered round this table.
From far and near we travel home,
Blessed that we are able.
Grateful for this sheltered place
With light in every window,
Saying welcome, welcome, share this feast
Come in away from sorrow.
Father, mother, daughter, son,
Neighbor, friend and friendless;
All together everyone in the gift of loving-kindness.
Grateful for whats understood,
And all that is forgiven;
We try so hard to be good,
To lead a life worth living.
Father, mother, daughter, son,
Neighbor, friend, and friendless;
All together everyone, let grateful days be endless.
Grateful for each hand we hold
Gathered round this table.

Thanks Elizabeth! Listened to her beautiful voice as I read the words. Wonderful expression of how we all feel on this day of giving thanks.

A wonderful song, and exactly how I feel today. Grateful for each little hand I can hold today. Grateful to be with my family. Grateful for my MoMo life. Happy Thanksgiving, Elizabeth!

And the same to you, Karen. I love thinking of you with those precious grandchildren.
