We all put off writing personal notes…somehow we think they have to be perfect, neat, and eloquent, and that means we have to be in the right mood. Not! That is the devil on your shoulder talking, and I’ll vouch for the fact that this is one of those instances where “Done is better than perfect!”
Consider the lovely, simple thank you note I received recently from a friend’s daughter for a wedding shower gift I gave her:
Dear Elizabeth,
Thank you so much for the beautiful picture. I have never seen anything like it. We are planning to put it in our living room so we can see it every day. It really is lovely.

It wasn’t long and it wasn’t fancy. It didn’t need to be. It beautifully conveyed warmth and sincerity, and it made my day just opening and reading it.
Now that’s not so hard is it? Just start…today…
