My heart still skips a beat when my husband of 44 years walks in the room and looks at me like he did when we first met. Today’s guest, Connection Messenger* Annette Petrick is inspired by her own experience of deep love, and in this 90-second episode, she reflects on the way lovers gaze at each other, even after many decades being together.

Just between us two – I have been blessed to spend my days with a man who tells me daily how beautiful I am. To hear this, as he touches my cheek or smoothes my hair, is magic. It defies the reality of the toll taken by seven plus decades on earth. It surely defies commercial definitions of beauty. I don’t find that sparkling beauty when I look in the mirror. And yet, he sees it – and tells me so.
What a miracle love bestows on those who see through its eyes. It was the inspiration for this radio show, which I’d like to share with you now.
May you always be the person who sees and the one who is seen, through the eyes of love.
