The Thrill Of The Unexpected Gift

December 21, 2013 by Elizabeth H. Cottrell

I can’t deny it…I LOVE heart-warming books, movies, and videos. This one took me completely by surprise, and while it may not be possible for most of us to pull off this amazing act of surprise generosity that WestJet did, it’s a wonderful reminder that unexpected gifts of kindness and generosity are often the most memorable. If you only watch one “feel good” video this Christmas, this is a great choice. 5 minutes long.

Merry Christmas!

Everyone here in the Bay area is talking about it and passing the web link around. We need more of these kinds of stories in our news!! Thanks for showing it here. Have a wonderful Christmas full of unexpected gifts!

I can see why it’s caused such a stir. Thanks for sharing this, Pamela, and I hope you also have a blessed and rich Christmas.

Wow. I can’t imagine all the planning that went into this. And the execution! I have read a few stories on my FB feed – one was a small gesture, a lady in the drive-through bought coffee for my friend, who was behind her in line. And then my friend paid it forward. Kind gestures, both large and small, can provide warmth and good cheer this holiday season.

I’m so glad you enjoyed this, Karen. I love your story — in a way, that story is even more powerful for individuals who couldn’t pull of the kind of orchestrated thing that WestJet did. Small gestures of kindness really do add up!

Thanks for reading and commenting, Karen! Merry Christmas.
