You raise me up…

June 15, 2012 by Elizabeth H. Cottrell

Everyone needs help

To get to the high places in our lives, we must all stand on the shoulders of those who’ve gone before and those who have believed in us. This powerful song by Josh Groban needs no explanation. Thank you to my friend, Karen R. Sanderson, for sharing it with me.

Who has raised you up?

Besides my mother and father and my husband and children, I can think of so many others who have supported and inspired me, including you, my faithful readers.

Thank you.

If this song reminds you of someone who has raised you up, go thank them. If this is no longer possible, shoot your gratitude to the Universe and go raise someone else up.

This song makes me cry. The first time I heard it, I thought man-woman stuff, but then, listening to it again and again (and again!), I realized it felt more like God “raising me up.” You raise me up, Elizabeth. What a kind and generous friend you are.

Thank you, Karen…you’ve set the bar in the “pay it forward” category. I might have missed this incredible song if you hadn’t shared it with me.
